Jennifer Roche

It seems Jennifer Roche must have been born with a paint brush in her hand. She spends each day painting the one of a kind tile murals that she and her husband have been doing professionally for over 30 years. At night and on weekends, she creates her wonderful oil paintings on canvas. Her canvas paintings have traditionally been inspired by her many years spent in the Southwest in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This series of paintings has been received nationally and internationally to great acclaim and are included in the collections of galleries and private collections everywhere.

Lately, Jennifer has begun a new series of rooster and hen paintings which depicts "Cockle Doodle Danny" and his wife, "Ruby Red" doing all of the silly things that we human beings are inclined to do.

In one painting, we find Danny and Ruby Red dancing the night away on New Year's eve night wearing a tuxedo and formal gown. In another we see Danny dressed up as a pirate out trick or treating on Halloween. Or how about Danny courting Ruby with candy and flowers on Valentine Day? Another has Danny and Ruby in their leathers riding their motorcycle during Bike Week at Daytona.

Jennifer is nothing if not prolific. Never wanting to be pigeon-holed as an artist, she continues to stretch the limits of her chosen profession. Though her success as an artist was assured with the opening of her first gallery in Santa Fe, Jennifer refuses to get comfortable with "formula art." She feels her best work springs from conflict; create an artistic problem and then find the solution.
